前回は言葉や身体を使ったエクササイズでした。主に、言葉を口にだしてみたり、言葉を使わずに体現してみたりしました。それをふまえて、
次はバナーの作り方。5枚のピースから一つのバナーを構成します。
The last workshop was the excise to use language and body. The students tried to express themselves literary or physically. In this time, the workshop was about how to make banner. Selected ５colors pieces are combined into one piece as banner.


材料は、常陸太田市の西の内和紙を使います。西の内の和紙は山方宿エリアで作られている、大変滑らかな繊細な紙です。繊維でできているだけあって、まるで衣のような柔らかさ。しかし、この西の内和紙は「紙布」と呼ばれる、和紙をよった糸から、着物を作ることもできるほど、頑丈です。
We used this Japanese paper (Wa-Shi in Japanese) of Nishi-no-uchi made in Hitachi-Ota city. Because it is made of fiber, it touches very smooth and sensitive as silk. Also this Japanese paper is quite strong enough to be cloth. Even it can make "Kimono" by twisting paper.
まず与えられた型紙に図を書いて、それにそってそれぞれパターンに合わせて切り離していきます。
First of all, the students wrote patterns on the paper, and then they cut it along with each of the pattern.
パターン通りに和紙を切るのが至難の業。
It looked difficult for them to cut the Japanese paper exactly the same way with the patterns.
上辺だけをのりでとめていきます。
After that, they glued only the upper part of some pieces of paper.
エドゥアルドも参考例を作ってみます。
