10月6、7日、アーカスプロジェクト2012いばらき、今年第一回目の２日間にわたるオープンスタジオが行われました。ご来場頂いた皆様、誠にありがとうございました。
First Open Studio of this year, ARCUS Project 2012 Ibaraki was held on 6th and 7th of October as 2days event. Thank you very much for coming.


1日目の６日はモリヤイーストキャストにて、「Broadcast」をテーマに、招聘アーティストの過去作品の展示、紹介と、ゲストキュレーターのチェ・キョンファさん、地元の方々を迎えてのトークが行われました。
First day on 6th, we had introductions and displays of artists' previous works and talks with the guest curator Che Kyongfa and local people.


会場を入ってすぐのスペースには、３名の招聘アーティスト、オズギュル・デミルジ、バスィール・マフムード、ユ・ウンジュと日本人ゲストアーティストの木村泰平のそれぞれのスペースが設けられ、過去の作品や現在進行中のプロジェクトの資料を画像やビデオ、ウェブサイトなどで見る事ができます。会場内に居るアーティスト達に作品について質問したり、交流を深めたりしながら、土曜日の午後、和やかな雰囲気でオープンスタジオの一日目が始まりました。
In the room just next to the entrance, there were the displays of each artist, Ozgur Demirci, Basir Mahmood, Eunju Yoo and the Japanese guest artist Taihei Kimura, where you could see their previous works and ongoing project on images, videos or websites. The first day of the open studio started with relaxed atmosphere in Saturday afternoon, people were asking to the artists about their work and deepening exchanges with them.




会場中央に設置されたドリンクバーでは、コーヒー、紅茶やソフトドリンクなどが用意されています。
Coffee, tea and soft drinks were prepared at the drink bar installed at the center of the venue.


フリータイムの後、資料展示の隣のスペースにて、最初の上映会が始まりました。
After the free time, the first screening started in the space next to the artists' displays.

上映会の後も、活発に意見が飛び交います。
They were discussing about works actively after the screening.



この日一本目のトークは、ゲストキュレーターのチェ・キョンファさんとアーティストとの対談。まずは４人のアーティストと彼らのこれまでに制作して来た作品の紹介から。
The first talk was the dialogue of artists and the guest curator Che Kyongfa. It started with the introduction of the four artists and their previous works.






キョンファさんからアーティストに質問が投げかけられ、ダイアローグが進んでいきました。
The dialogue went on with questions by Kyongfa to the artists.


作品制作のプロセスや、作品やプロジェクトが社会と関わることの目的や効果について、考えさせられる内容でした。
It was a thoughtful discussion about process of making art, meaning and impact of art in the society and so on.

各作品の上映の前にアーティストによる作品の紹介も行われました。
Each piece was introduced by the artist before the screening.



二本目のトークは、アーティストそれぞれが現在行っているプロジェクトに関わる地域住民を交えての座談会。
The second talk was the round-table discussion with the guests of local people related to the artists' ongoing project.


チーフコーディネーターの杉山が司会進行です。
The chief coordinator, Gosuke Sugiyama was acting as host of the talk.


オズギュルの改造車についてのリサーチに関わる石井聡さん。
Satoshi Ishii is involved with the research of modified cars by Ozgur.


ウンジュのワークショップに参加している関山幸子さん。
Sachiko Sekiyama is participating in workshops of Eunju.


守谷市についてリサーチしているバスィールのプロジェクトには、都市計画の仕事に携わる西尾京介さん。
Kyosuke Nishio is working for town planning which is related to Basir's research of Moriya city.


大橋加誉さんは、木村君が現在取り組んでいるプロジェクトで参加予定の展覧会、墨東まち見世2012、「どこにいるかわからない」展を企画しています。
Kaho Ohashi is organizing the exhibition "I don't know where I am" in Bokuto Machimise 2012, of which Taihei is participating with his current project.


トークはオープンラジオとして微弱電波の公開放送、そしてUstreamでの放送も行われました。
The talk was broadcasted on Open Radio with weak radio wave and Ustream on internet.


各アーティストの進行中のプロジェクトから、アーティストと地域との関わり、アーティストのアイデアが作品へと昇華される時のジャンプ、作品とそれを鑑賞する鑑賞者の解釈、アートとは何なのか、なぜアーティストになったのか、と、深い話へと進んでゆき、パネリストそれぞれの経験と立場からの興味深い話を聞く事ができました。
The talk started with the stories about each artist's ongoing project and it went on with the relationship between artists and locality, about a big jump when artists' ideas turn into art works, art works and its interpretations of spectators, what is art and why they became artist... it went deeper and deeper. It was very interesting to listen to the talk of each panelist with their unique experience and situation.

予定の時間を大幅に越す熱のこもったトークとなりました。
皆様お疲れさまでした。そして、出演して下さった方々、ご来場下さった皆様、どうもありがとうございました。
The talk was intense and ended much later than the scheduled time.
We are really pleased with the cooperation of panelists and appreciate people's participation.


オープンスタジオは二日目、もりや学びの里、アーカススタジオでの「Gathering」へと続きます。
Open studio continued to the second day "Gathering" at ARCUS studio in Moriya Manabino-sato.
